if you can go to biometric center within 10 days of original appointment and do a walk-in on a walk-in date, usually WED;
else
go to biometric center and hand over the originals (after keeping a copy) and ask them to reschdule and give them for ex., any date after 25th OCT 2007.

The problem of rescheduled FP is, it kind of throws your case in the back and based on ASC's load, it might take them upto an year or more (think 800,000) for them to put you in again.

I think if it has been 1 year since your your LC was filed, you can get an extension based on that.

An A# is allotted whenever you file for AOS (either employment or relationship based or any other category eligible) and the USCIS accepts your I-485. This will be your A# for the rest of your life and will be on any subsequent filings (irrespective of the category .. immigrant or non-immigrant) with the USCIS.
I am not really sure about the A# allotted when you file for F1/OPT (I never had an F1). Please check with a qualified legal specialist.

My friend is filing for student visa(for masters) as her H1B is about to expire in september(already has 6 years on it). She has worked on different projects and even had part-time jobs but she couldnt find a company that can sponsor her H1b. She was also jobless for an year(last)...long story.....anyways.. She lives with her family but her parents cannot help her much cuz their green card application is still in process but she is above 35 yrs old. Now she cannot think of how to answer these questions on F1-Visa.

�Show evidence that establishes that you have a residence abroad to which you intend to return
She is from Pakistan and althu she has relatives there and plus her parents own a house(proof of her resident in PK that she can return to) too but you know how the situation is there and she wants to live with her parents. So how should she answer the above questions?

I am currently using my EAD and working for a company remotely from my house. I also have a Permanent Resident Status in Canada. I can work remotely from Canada and my company will not have any objections to it.
Since I am on 485/EAD can I work for a US company and be on their pay roll and live in Canada? What are the ramifications?

1)My I 94 expires in 2 months.I don't want to extend H1 and I want to use EAD.So how can I extend my I94 if I start using EAD?
2)I finished 4yrs of stay on H1B. If I don't extend H1B now and start using EAD, if by any reason my 485 denies in future, can I switch back to my H1B and work for the remaining 2yrs on H1B?
Just start using your EAD and if you have an Advance Parole use that next time you enter the country from a trip abroad and you will get a new I-94.

Are you married to a USC? If so, you have nothing to worry about. Do not travel until your GC is approved as AP is not 100% safe for people that overstayed.

Just fyi to be cautious.
There was a CBP Admission Review Squad at Washinton Dulles Airport on 11th evening. They sent all passengers from multiple flights to secondary check where they had to wait for over 4 hours. They were instances were people were not admitted or given just 1 month entry with specific instructions written on I94 that they cannot apply for EOS or AOS. This is for visiting Visa.

Yes. I did contacted both Kerry and Brown's office last month (July end) for my EAD renewal application.
Both office staff were very receptive. Brown office has more than one person working on immigration matter....and I believe they were first to act on my case. I got EAD approval 4 days later.
